There are competitive exams list after 12th. Competitive exams are standardized tests used to evaluate and select candidate for various purpose including university admission, job opportunities and scholarship. 

Competitive exams in India are conducted by a variety of organizations, including the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), the Staff Selection Commission (SSC), the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), and the National Testing Agency (NTA). 

To register for competitive exams candidates typically need to visit the official website of the relevant recruiting agencies. This usually involves creating an account, filling out application forms, uploading required documents (like photo and signature), and paying the registration fee. Check the official notification for the specific exam for detailed instructions and deadlines. 

COMPETITIVE EXAMS FOR JOBS

1) SSC


        The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is an Indian government agency responsible for recruiting staff for various Group B and Group C posts in the central government. Establish in 1975, the SSC conducts recruitment exams like the Multi Tasking Staff (MTS), Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL), and other specialized exams. These exams are used to select candidates for various positions across different ministries and department. 


Exams conducted by SSC:

 

 

CHSL

         Selection process include three stages CBT, Descriptive, Skill test.

         It is conducted in once in a year and application for 2025 will bigin in June and July.

         Salary - Rs. 17,000 to Rs. 18,000 per month

 

 

 MTS

         Selection process include two stages (CBE), (DV).

         It is conducted in once in a year and application for 2025 will begin in June.

         Salary - Rs. 18,000 to Rs. 56,000 per month

 

 

 

GD Constable

 

         Selection process include four stages (CBE), (PET), (PST), (DME)

         It is conducted in once in a year 

         Salary - Rs. 21,700 per month

 



2) UPSC 

     The union public service commission (UPSC)exams held twice in a year. UPSC also conduct higher level exams like Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) etc. Generally the exams conduct by UPSC have higher salries. The selection process include a written exam and an interview conducted by the Service Selection Board (SSB).  



Exams conducted by UPSC:

  

        NDA

          Selection process include written test and interview

          It is conducted in twice a year, in April and September

          Salary - Rs. 56,000 per month

  

 

3) RRB 

        The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRB) conduct various exams for 12th pass candidates, offering opportunities for railway jobs. These exams, like the RRB NTPC exam, test knowledge in areas such as general awareness, reasoning, mathematics, general science, and can lead to position like Junior Clerk cum Typist or Train clerk. Successful candidate can enjoy job stability, competitive salaries, and benefits within the Indian Railways.  

Exams conducted by RRB:  

 

 

RRB NTPC

          Selection process include five stages CBT 1, CBT 2, Typing Skill Test/CBAT, Document Verification, Medical Examination.

          It is not conducted every year.

          Salary - Rs. 28,000 to Rs. 55,000 per month

 

 RRB Group D

          Selection process include four stages CBT, PET/PST, DV, Medical Examination.

          It is conducted in once in a year and application for 2025 has already been released.

          Salary - Rs. 18,000 per month 

 

RRB ALP 

 

          Selection process include five stages CBT 1, CBT 2, Typing Skill Test/CBAT, Document Verification, Medical Examination.

          It is conducted in once in a year and application for 2025 has begun.

          Salary - Rs. 19,000 to Rs. 35,000 per month

 

RPF Constable

          Selection process include three stages CBT, PET/PMT, Document Verification.

          It is not necessarily to conduct in every year.

          Salary - Rs. 37,420 to Rs. 44,460 per month

4) NTA 

          The NTA (National Testing Agency) conducts various entrance exams after class 12th for admission to higher education institutions, including engineering (JEE Main), medical (NEET), and other courses. These exams are standardized tests designed to access the competency of candidates for admission and they are conducted in a computer-based test (CBT) mode. NTA also conducts other exams like UGC-NET for teaching positions in universities. 

Exams conducted by NTA:

 

 

 

JEE MAIN

 

          selection process involves two sessions (Session 1 and Session 2) where the best score from either session is considered. The National Testing Agency (NTA) then merges these scores to create a combined merit list/ranking and an All-India Rank. 

          conducted twice a year, by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The two sessions are typically held in January and April. Students can appear in both sessions and their higher score will be considered

          There is no age limit for appearing in the JEE Mains exam

 


 NEET UG

          The selection process for NEET-UG involves a multi-stage process, starting with appearing for the NEET exam. Qualified candidates then participate in the counseling process based on their performance and rank, ultimately leading to seat allotment and admission to medical or dental courses. 

          It is conducted in once in a year

          NEET-UG is designed for students who have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology (PCB) in their Class 12

 

 

 

CUET

 

          candidates must fill out the CUET application form, specifying their preferred universities and courses. Then, they appear for the CUET exam, which is a computer-based test

          The CUET exam is currently held once a year. This applies to both the undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) levels.

          The CUET UG exam pattern for 2025 involves three sections: Language, Domain-Specific Subjects, and a General Test. Each section has 50 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and a 60-minute duration. Candidates can choose to appear for a maximum of five subjects.
